At The Eye Doctors P.C., we participate in the InfantSEE® program, offering no-cost, one-time eye exams for infants between 6 and 12 months old. An InfantSEE® exam helps us catch potential vision issues—like crossed eyes (strabismus), lazy eye (amblyopia), or nearsightedness or farsightedness—early on, so they don’t turn into more serious problems later. Catching these concerns while your baby is still growing makes treatment easier and more effective.

What is InfantSEE®?

InfantSEE® is a national program that provides early eye care for infants, offering free eye exams for babies regardless of family income or insurance. These exams are designed to detect early signs of vision problems, ensuring your baby’s eyes are developing as they should. It’s a one-time, no-cost exam available to all babies between 6 and 12 months of age.

What happens during an InfantSEE® exam?

During your baby’s InfantSEE® exam, we’ll take our time to ensure your baby’s eyes are developing properly, using gentle techniques and baby-friendly methods. Our caring team is experienced in working with infants, and we make sure to create a friendly, relaxed environment. If we spot any concerns, we’ll walk you through the next steps to make sure your baby gets the care they need.

Here’s what you can expect:

Eye movement and alignment check

We’ll see how well your baby’s eyes work together and if they’re following objects correctly.

Pupil response

We’ll check how your baby’s pupils react to light to ensure they’re working as they should.

Eye health evaluation

We’ll look for any signs of issues like congenital cataracts or early signs of conditions like glaucoma.

Basic vision check

Using special techniques, we’ll assess how well your baby sees, even though they can’t tell us directly.

Kristin’s help, calm, and patient voice was a pleasant experience! She kept me informed on how to mail them back there and get a warranty placement. Took out the stressful situation. Staff is helpful, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The staff at the desk to the Eye Drs are a team and it shows in the attitude of the staff. They create a family feel in the clinic. The Eye Drs are thorough. They offer a variety of tests to check eye needs such as cataracts. The glasses are a little more expensive but you can take your script elsewhere. I prefer to stay because I know the quality will be of high standards. They work with you to get the fit right. The variety of glasses is a little higher in cost due to brands.They do offer a small variety for lower cost but not as cute or trendy. Contacts okay you can order them. Restroom available.
